The 2023 China Industrial Furnace and Metallurgical Industry (IFMI) Thermal Technology Development Conference was held in Zhangqiu, Jinan, Shandong Province

On May 27th, the second plenary meeting of the 10th Industrial Furnace Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering was successfully held at the Qingzhao Hotel of Shandong Building in Zhangqiu, Jinan, Shandong. Qi Haiying, Chairman of the Industrial Furnace Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering and Professor of the Department of Energy at Tsinghua University, first delivered a speech, pointing out that industrial furnaces and metallurgical industries are key areas for energy conservation and carbon reduction. As the key equipment of Hot working technology in machinery, metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials and many other industries, the performance of industrial furnaces directly affects product quality, productivity, energy consumption, cost and environmental protection. It is the forefront of helping to achieve the "double carbon" goal and innovative development. Challenges and opportunities coexist. We must make more efforts in forward-looking, standardized, intelligent, international, cultivating innovative talents and other aspects. He also mentioned that Shandong is a major industrial province in China, with 41 industrial categories. Industry accounts for nearly one-third of Shandong's economic system and is the main engine driving economic development.
